East Street Market

Situated just off Walworth Road, East Street (known locally simply as 'The Lane') connects Walworth and and Old Kent Road. It is one of London's most popular markets. Almost anything can be procured on this narrow street including fruit, fish, jewellery, shoes, hats, household goods and all maner of other things. It is particularly known for Caribbean fruit and vegetables. Even if you are not buying its an intersting place to wander to sample an aspect of London life that has all but disappered.
